World News - Smoking Ban? THE WORLD?

Smoking ban? Lawd give me a break! England is considering the same ban.

I watched the news and read the Denver Post’s Smoking-ban fight rekindled in regards to ban smoking in Colorado and I nearly hit the roof!

Now, don’t get me wrong, I wish current smokers would give up the nasty stinky habit. Your hands, clothes, and hair reek of the foul smell.

Today, while millions of Americans forego medical insurance in place of the other necessities such as food, housing, etc, I do not understand how the smoking ban for Colorado will help matters. Today, while many businesses are suffering and ultimately closing due to the unfavorable economy, I see the smoking ban as just another blow to businesses such as bars and restaurants. This is just another politician trying to get a bill passed without researching the REAL problem. Someone - possibly Phillip Morris- has failed to pay the piper a.k.a. a kickback is way overdue.

It’s a complete circle:

• Too many unemployed people
• Too many unemployed people who are depressed
• The unemployed and depressed will not be treated or cured from their ailments; who has the money for that?
  

If there is not any money for jobs or medical insurance, then let them smoke. If the smoking does not kill the smokers and non-smokers, then just trying to adapt to daily living of simple survival, WILL.

It’s a complete circle: no money, no jobs, no medical insurance; the result is still the same; ultimate death.

Some may say that I have contradicted myself, but I honestly believe that everything was made for a purpose. Why was smoking advised years ago? Lockjaw. I don’t condone it, but I do understand.
