RIDDLE
While checking my email, some smart aleck posed a question that MADE me think! Lawd! Shame on them for seeking an answer to just one of the problems millions of Americans face.
The sagacious person writes:
"I was reading the November 05 issue of Time magazine. There was in interesting artilcle about some legislation passed by congress that will allow companies the ability stop paying into their employee pension plans. As I read further, I realized that companies are finding all kind of ways to cut costs. It appears as though the trend has now shifted to the reduction or even the elimination of employee pension plans. The scary thing is that not only does it affect future retirees but also those who have already retired. Imagine being someone who is totally dependent on their monthly pension check to survive. Then one day it's cut in half.....Or worse.....It never comes again......I know too many people who worked the 40-40-40 plan. That is to work 40 hours a week for 40 years only to retire and try to live off a pension that pays only 40% of what you struggled to live off of when you were getting 100% of it. That's sad. Now they are going to reduce or take that away.
Everyone MUST have a PLAN B! WHAT IS YOURS? "
Can you believe that question?????
Please, and I don’t even have a *hkk%gjk)ljgh answer!
I have read a similar article, and you are correct. Everyone indeed needs a Plan B. I wrecked my brain and found a few possibilities that may work for me, but not my loved ones.
I could be so fortunate to depart from this earth prior to retirement and thus my pension would not be essential to me. However, if death does not proceed, then I suppose I could work three jobs and save, but as it has been proven, that an overburdened body could lead to stress, which could lead to an early death. I could invest more, but anyone who pays attention to the market and are mere survivors of the outcome of loss, they know it does not work. Another thought would be to become a politician so that I can receive a pension for LIFE at 100%. However, that wouldn’t suit me as I believe I have a heart and care about the welfare of the people.
Good question, Repnice, but I must say that the only thing I can come up with is to get everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE to vote for the party they feel is most suitable to their current and future lifestyle.
Good question, but the only thing I can come up with, is to write your congress man/woman and DEMAND a change. The ruling must be changed, for me, you, EVERYONE! Again, it’s just another slap in the face to the working people of America.
It is surprising to me that people (myself included) haven’t taken to the streets on this issue.
GREAT QUESTION!
….are there any ANSWERS out there?
Prior to viewing this site: It was important for me to write My Disclaimer. I have an illness that warps my mind and has certain ill effects such as my vision, loss of balance and muscle coordination, slurred speech, tremors, stiffness, bladder and bowel problems, difficulty walking, cognitive problems and even paralysis. With that said, to Mr. Bush, take it easy on a sistah as I am NOT responsible as to what may appear here. Perhaps if you, Mr. Bush had allowed treatment for my illness, then I wouldn’t be so insane. Please check the definition of INSANITY.
